If you’re an avid fan of mobile technology, then you’re used to waiting for the next big thing. However, these days it feels like the next big thing only seems a few weeks away. With the MOTOROLA MOTO G85 5G, the wait might be over. This phone is the latest release from Motorola, and it looks all set to shake the budget phone market for years to come. If you’ve already read about the new MOTO G85 5G and you’re not sure what all the hype is about, then this preview might just answer all your questions. The MOTO G85 5G is the latest budget release from the tech giant Motorola. It has already been leaked online, and it promises to be one of the hottest phones of this year. A few weeks ago, some information about it started tricking out. The leaked information refers to a phone called the SWGH20. This phone promises a bigger screen, longer battery life, a faster refresh rate, and a much better camera than its predecessor, the G8 Power.
Leaked renders of the MOTOROLA MOTO G85 5G give us our first taste of the upcoming smartphone, although there’s one major difference from its predecessor, which was the Moto G84. We can see pretty easily that what used to be a smartphone with flat edges and a flat screen has evolved into a much sleeker device, with railings and a curved panel that gives it a much more premium look. And while the phone still has a camera bump, unlike its predecessor, it now blends with the rear cover, making it into what is sure to be a phone that is sure to catch someone’s eye, with the upcoming MOTO G85 5G coming in black, blue and gold/yellow.
But there is a lot more to the shiny outfit, and the MOTOROLA MOTO G85 5G is alleged to house a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, despite this chipset not exactly being bandied about lately in the tech sphere. This certainly suggests that Motorola might be taking its cheaper handset category less seriously, but with the Adreno 619 GPU, there is reason to believe that the graphics performance will be acceptable at the very least.
But what’s most surprising about the MOTO G85 5G is that, aside from its looks and guts, its specs could easily make it the class of the budget heap. It packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, more than enough to handle your digital life, and while the 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen only supports 120Hz, so does the much pricier iPhone 13. And while its 5,000mAh battery won’t exactly make the phone a featherweight, it does support 33W wired charging, which helps mitigate any problem. The photography setup also includes a 50MP main camera, plus a 9MP ultrawide shooter that we’ll guess is the victim of a typo, and a 32MP selfie camera that’s ready to snap you at the highest possible resolution.
On paper, which is all that really matters until you’ve got the phone in your hands, the MOTOROLA MOTO G85 5G is a thing of beauty. Its specs read like a wish list of hardware, and its design oozes with promise. It is, however, the price that could make or break this phone. The Moto G84 5G left most of us thinking this would be a wallet-friendly device. The MOTO G85 5G could be the one that ramps up its rivals’ efforts. So while the MOTO G85 5G won’t launch until September at the earliest, here’s hoping Motorola keeps the price under control.
In the budget smartphone segment, it will certainly make waves against a new crop of smartphone brands that have made solid inroads into the slightly more expensive value-for-money segment. We shall see how it fares, but interesting times await.
There is more to the MOTOROLA MOTO G85 5G’s countdown than it appearing in an extremely convoluted vein of anticipation-creation. There is also Motorola’s aim to advance what budget handsets can be: to redefine what people can expect for less. If the MOTO G85 5G truly feature mighty specs within its expected budget-friendly price tag, paired with an iconic design, then it would confirm Motorola’s goal to inspire change and bring about what people need, but don’t unless future technology pairs stunning looks with powerful and efficient hardware. Only time will tell if Motorola succeeds in reshaping the expectations of the price-minded consumers.
