In the ever-changing world of smartphones, a new ‘chapter’ is coming. The keywords ‘brand-new’ Honor are about to launch its new life in the smartphone industry. It’s about its latest creations: a brand-new smartphone with Honor 200 series, bringing you more fun in life. To every passionate smartphone fans, this is a new beginning. Shortly after the launch of its first Magic 6 Pro globally, the brand will launch the new Honor 200 series. While that phone leads in the street fight against other smartphone giants, Honor 200 series is the new Master of the World. Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro, of course, will be the smartphones that global users look forward to.
Due for a glitzy launch in China on 27 May, it’s an Honor 200 series that’s got something to prove. Until now there have been two devices teased for the series: the base-model Honor 200 and the Honor 200 Pro, a higher-spec sister model with a deep camera bump and a larger hole-punch cutout in the display. The larger cutout hints that the Pro will feature beefed-up biometric hardware.
Honor has opened pre-orders for its upcoming devices on its Chinese website, after a series of teasers that haven’t given us much detail. The tech enthusiast site GSMArena says the company’s subsidiary, Honor, has been drip-feeding information about the phone via cryptic posts on social media, and the main rumours have been picked up by the best-known leaker of all, *Digital Chat Station*. According to the leaks, the Honor 200 and the Honor 200 Pro both have 50MP primary cameras and – courtesy of a digital zoom – a 50x telephoto lens. The battery on the Pro is a whopping 5,200 mAh, giving it what must be enviable stamina before seeking another charging plug.
While the initial launch will occur only in China, the tech world watching closely with bated breath that the international consumer doesn’t get left out in the cold this time around like last year’s Honor 100 series. They claim that the launch will be global, and yet there has been no official global launch announcement. When will we learn if we can get our hands on them, if at all?
Such is the anticipation around the Honor 200, and the reported Pro model that fans will be waiting for, that we can believe that it will also live up to its rumoured expectations. Honor has shown over and over what it can do, whether it’s the award-winning Magic 6 Pro, or its focus on pushing smartphone development forward, either with stylish design developments that enhance microphone positioning, such as the Red Magic 6 RSR, or through groundbreaking ambitions to improve energy-storage capability with innovations in silicon battery tech.
Digging deeper into what ‘Pro’ means, we find that Honor envisions Pro models not as devices, but as experiences for users who are fussy about performance: as the phone’s page points out, HONOR is offering features that are at a ‘top level’ – more capable, more useful cameras, and batteries that are much larger than what users can find with competitors.
For now, Gizmogo just deals in trade-ins and sale of devices, but maybe more will come as the eventual global availability of the Honor 200 Pro make them more widely available.
In a similar vein, if you are looking to sell your current smartphone, Gizmogo outlines the simple process: 1. go to the website, 2. enter your current smartphone model, 3. instantly get a quote, 4. ship your old phone to us for free, 5. get paid instantly once our technicians verify its condition, and 6. prepare to upgrade to your next Pro!
If the rumored specifications come to fruition- better cameras, battery-the Pro is definitely an upgrade for professional photographers and power users. I will have to wait until the official specs comes out, and decide based on my needs.
The price offered on gizmogo’s buy-back catalogue is regularly recalibrated based on market trends and hot-selling devices. At this point, it’s safe to say that the Honor 200 series including the Pro model will very likely receive attractive buy-back offers a month or two after their market launch.
If you want to get the most money you can for your device, make sure it’s in good working order – and, ideally, without any major damage, still has its original accessories and packaging.
Honor 200. And the definition begins with ‘please wait for the scene…’ Before anything else, the power, performance and sophistication of Honor 200 Pro, set for launch at Technoself 20XX, are invoked in this teaser that invites Honor users to explore the human body’s inner world. This teaser, which has been redone in other bilingual versions, is not only an announcement of a new smartphone, but its presentation as a window into new realities, whether real or imagined, that is, the world of Pros. Its breath-taking pictures; its impressive power and battery sustainability; its embedded properties or facilities that enable ‘satellite-like broadband connection’ make Honor 200 Pro more than a gadget in every way. A gadget holds many novelties – in power, form, content, user – and, through successive iterations, carries the idea further than was originally conceived, and in ways its creators did not forsee. Through a gadget’s enhanced ‘Satellite-like broadband connection’ it might as well be our invisible satellite, not to mention our welder, aspirin, dancer, doctor or clothes-shielding mobilians. By locutions in such verbal ‘karaoke’, such slogans, advertisements promise their unity to the future in cross-generational continuity, and demand continuity by being drafted from a language formed in far-flung, often very cut-off places, well beyond the reach of technologies they promote and the idea of limitlessness they also inspire.
Stay connected, stay ahead, and most importantly, stay Pro.
