The highly acclaimed Elden Ring – an open-world action role-playing game that has swept players and critics off their feet – is preparing to release a community video contest: Return to Grace. This contest is recruiting Elden Ring’s thousands of fans to show off their creative, dedicated and passionate approach to the game by participating in the contest. Elden Ring is gearing up for its grand-scale DLC (downloadable content) expansion, called Shadow of the Erdtree. But as players anticipate the next big encounter with the game, the mind behind Return to Grace might be a fan who appreciates the game and has a deep understanding of popular culture. This contest agrees with the humanity of both Angelique from the princess statue and the jackal, who may not be a friendly mystical spirit – just a ferocious jackal.
By expanding the action RPG’s plot-heavy, gameplay-lean constraints at a fundamental level, Elden Ring has not just made a great action RPG. It’s also created a universe that’s full of lore, treachery and tropical despair. Its playable world is built outwards from, and throughout the story, adding layer after layer of detail and imbuing its expansive territory with purpose, mystery and pain.
And from 6 May 2024 through 2 June 2024, the ‘Return to Grace’ contest is currently open for any US resident aged 18 or older to enter by making a video depicting ‘the Spirit, the Beauty, the Brutality of Elden Ring’. Finally, the community gets to have its way with the Lands Between, and tell its own story.
The prizes are absurdly good. A 10ft, life-size statue of the Golden Order avatar Messmer the Impaler will be awarded to the winner of Best In Show. Winners of Best Narrative, Best Action and Best Direction will receive a life-size copy of Melania’s arm, while Best Comedy, Best Use of Sound and Most Original Use of Elden Ring will award a model of Messmer’s helmet for Best Armour Design.
Respect the contest rules. You can use official assets with your gameplay footage but the core of Elden Ring must be truly represented. Your entry must maintain respect of intellectual property and integrity, without any third-party infringement or alteration.
When completed, these ‘Elden Ring Tribute Odes’ must be submitted somewhere – YouTube, X, Vimeo – tagged and taggable, their creators thereby officially in the fray. It’s a show of fandom, clearly, but it’s also an endorsement of the impending DLC for Elden Ring – one that its players are eager for – and a demonstration of just how deeply engaged its community is.
Prepare yourself for the unlock of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, releasing on 21 June 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Join a new storyline and explore new dungeons, cast new spells, forge new weapons and armour, and defeat new legendary bosses. This all sounds so exciting!
The award is more than just bespoke prizes for a video contest From Return to Grace, a call goes out for the community to enchant, create and revel together. With the Shadow of the Erdtree coming ever closer, this contest stands as an invitation to reflect on your story, your hardship, your triumph, and the Elden Ring saga to which you belong.
The ring, which forms the ‘E’ in the Elden Ring and AKA the Grand Rune of Frenzied Flame, is presented as deep with power and mystery. The masters of that ring – the Exalted, who beat the residents of the Lands Between to the throne room – bring paths of destinies together. The ring is the Elden Ring, as the game is the Return to Grace: a cycle of challenge and victory, of downs and ups, of beating a boss and beating the contest, of fantasies about world domination and fantasies about the power of storytelling. And that’s where Return to Grace comes from, this present version of the contest, this film and this essay: AKA, the ring itself. This Ring contest is about worldbuilding its own challenges and victories, about its winner’s adventures from their point of view, about the thrill of the unknown matching the glory of the conquest. The idea is for players to talk back to the game by living the story we’ve made for our characters. So, this is a Return to Grace to get back in touch with the joy of discovery, with the fun and wonder of completing and overcoming, and with letting the victors in the game spin their own version of their tale, telling the story of the Elden Ring with the ring at their finger’s centre, touching the world.
Gizmogo primarily specialises in selling electronics, but I imagine it would be up to their current policies if they would be willing to sell gaming merchandise such as Elden Ring-based products depending on the type of merchandise. I recommend wanting to sell something through Gizmogo to visit the Gizmogo website for the most accurate and up-to-date answers on information.
Ensuring the authenticity of merchandise, in particular, licensed collectables and goods of interest to fans reproduced with the permission of the copyright holder and subject to licensing agreements, is a must for platforms like Gizmogo, the company where I work, especially since we’re also selling items based on a video game called Elden Ring, which hit the market in February. We would normally require sellers to document official warranties or other certifications of authenticity before listing such items.
These factors all play into the value of an Elden Ring item on a marketplace such as Gizmogo or beyond – whether it’s complete in box, rare, or in high demand – and whether it’s an officially licensed product or not. For example, a limited edition item or one won through contest could go for more than the standard sealed game box.
Gizmogo, although it functions as a website where you can sell or buy electronic gadgets, it may provide online discussion forums or community sections that provide its users with a space for discussion on their shared interests, such as Elden Ring. In such case, products such as Elden Ring merchandise could be swapped or purchased. It would be advisable to check whether Gizmogo has opened any form of fan community on their website.
If you want to sell your Elden Ring items on the secondary market through a marketplace such as Gizmogo, you’d want the item to look pristine, to take photos from various angles, and to write a detailed description that includes the item’s condition and what exactly it comes with (original box, original instructions, etc). The more honest you are about the item’s condition and history, the more responsive buyers will be.
