Sony just kicked off 2025 with a State of Play, giving us a peek at what's coming to PS5 this year.
While some big names like Ghost of Yōtei and the new Assassin’s Creed were MIA (bummer!), they did spotlight some cool smaller titles like Dreams of Another and a new Five Nights at Freddy’s game. Borderlands 4
Borderlands 4 is coming to PS5 on September 23rd! A new trailer just dropped, and it’s packed with insane action, crazy new Action Skills, and wild movement abilities on the new planet Kairos. They’re promising “BAJILLIONER” weapons and even more mayhem than ever before! A full gameplay reveal is coming to State of Play this spring, so keep your eyes peeled. Darwin’s Paradox!
Get ready to dive into Darwin’s Paradox on PS5 in 2025! We’re playing as Darwin, an octopus plucked from the sea and thrown into a crazy food factory. We’ll be climbing, camouflaging, and inking our way through puzzles and wacky characters. The developers at ZDT Studio are using the DualSense controller to really make us feel like an octopus, with haptic feedback for inking and vibrations for movement. Plus, the game looks gorgeous with HDR, ray tracing, and 4K/60fps options. We can even use the touchpad for hints when we’re stuck! Wishlist it now and get ready for some cephalopod shenanigans!
Dave the Diver: Ichiban’s Holiday
Whoa, Dave the Diver is teaming up with Like a Dragon! Ichiban is taking a “relaxing” vacation at the Blue Hole, but of course, things get crazy when he and Dave uncover a dolphin-poaching syndicate. Get ready for karaoke, beat-’em-up infiltrations, and familiar faces from the Like a Dragon series. This DLC, Ichiban’s Holiday, launches this April on PS4 and PS5. We’re so stoked to bring these two worlds together – it’s going to be epic!
Days Gone Remastered
Days Gone is getting a PS5 Remastered version on April 25, 2025! It’s coming with improved graphics, 3D audio, DualSense features, and a bunch of new content. We’re talking a new survival arcade mode called Horde Assault, a Permadeath mode for the hardcore players, and even a Speedrun mode. Plus, they’ve added a bunch of new accessibility features. If you already own the PS4 or PC version, you can upgrade for $10. New players can snag it for $49.99. Pre-orders start tomorrow and come with some cool bonuses!
Digimon Time Stranger
Get ready for Digimon Story Time Stranger on PS5 in 2025! This new JRPG lets you travel between the human and Digital Worlds, exploring a brand new realm. It features an improved battle system, fan-favorite Digimon like Agumon and Omegamon, and a deep story about the bonds between humans and their Digimon. Directive 8020
Get ready for some serious space horror with Directive 8020 from Supermassive Games! We’re joining the crew of the Cassiopeia on a deadly mission to save humanity, where every choice matters. The ship is infected with an alien organism that can mimic the crew, so we’ll need to use stealth and new tools to survive. Think The Dark Pictures meets sci-fi horror, with branching storylines, tough choices, and even more environmental threats. Dreams of Another
Get ready for something totally different with Dreams of Another from Q-Games, coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025! This third-person exploration-action game is built around the idea that “there is no creation without destruction.” Instead of destroying, you create the world with your shots. It’s a philosophical and allegorical experience with two emotionally scarred characters, talking trees, and a focus on narrative. The soundtrack is also being created by the game’s director and blends all sorts of instruments and sounds to add to the dreamlike feeling. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
Freddy’s back! Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic is coming to PS5 and PS VR2 on June 13th! Hell Is Us

Lies of P: Overture

Ahoy, mateys! If you’re itching to sail the seas with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has a treat for you! A PS5 demo is dropping on February 14th! Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny
Capcom just dropped some sweet Onimusha news! We got a new gameplay trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword (coming to PS5 in 2026!) and learned that the legendary Toshiro Mifune is the face model for Musashi! Plus, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is getting a remaster and is coming to PS5 and PS4 this May 23rd! So much samurai goodness!
Saros
Whoa! Housemarque, the Returnal devs, just announced their next game, Saros! It’s an all-new action game coming to PS5 in 2026. We’re heading to a lost colony on Carcosa under an ominous eclipse as Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer, on a personal mission. They’re promising a longer gameplay reveal later this year, so definitely keep an eye out for that!
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
Ninja fans, rejoice! The Shinobi series is making a comeback on August 29, 2025! We’re getting a brand new 2D action platformer with a gorgeous hand-drawn art style from Lizardcube, the team behind Streets of Rage 4. It’s hitting PS5 and PS4 and looks like it’s going to capture everything we loved about the old-school Shinobi games: fast action, special powers, and all that ninja goodness!
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds
Sonic’s hitting the track again! Sega just gave us our first look at gameplay for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, coming to PS5 and PS4 sometime in the future. They’re adding Travel Rings that warp you to totally new locations mid-race, and a cool RPG-like Gadget feature to customize your racing perks. Get ready to race across worlds!
Split Fiction
Get ready for some co-op craziness! Hazelight Studios, the creators of It Takes Two, are bringing us Split Fiction, a new co-op adventure about the power of friendship. You can play as Mio or Zoe, and the game is packed with bizarre situations as you explore stories born from their imaginations. Even better, they’re using a Friend’s Pass, so only one of you needs to own the game to play together online! It’s coming to PS5.
Splitgate 2
Splitgate 2 is getting an Alpha on PS5 February 27th! This Alpha is all about a new Multi-Team Portal Warfare mode – think 24 players battling it out in teams of 8 on a massive map, like twenty times bigger than anything we’ve seen in Splitgate before! 1047 Games is still working on the game based on feedback, so this is our chance to jump in and help shape what Splitgate 2 becomes! Super excited to see what everyone thinks!
Stellar Blade
Sweet! Stellar Blade is teaming up with Goddess of Victory: Nikke! We’re getting a new boss battle, collectible dolls, stickers, and new outfits! Both Stellar Blade (on PC) and the Nikke DLC (on PS5 and PC) are launching in June. This crossover looks awesome!
The Midnight Walk
Remember The Midnight Walk from the last State of Play? Well, Moonhood is back with a new gameplay trailer, and guess what? We also got a release date! Mark your calendars, because this handcrafted dark fantasy adventure is launching May 8th!
Tides of Annihilation
Check out Tides of Annihilation Eclipse Glow Studio just revealed this single-player action-adventure game. We’re heading to a shattered, mystical London as Gwendolyn, who can summon two spectral knights using a mysterious gray mist! We’ll have to choose our knights strategically based on our playstyle and the challenges we face. Sounds pretty cool!
Warriors: Abyss
Whoa! Dynasty Warriors just got a roguelite makeover! Warriors: Abyss launches today on PS5 and PS4! You can play as over 100 heroes, battling hordes of enemies in hell. Looks like we’ll need to mix and match heroes and items to come up with new strategies and survive. Time to plunge into the abyss!
WWE 2K25
Let’s get ready to wrestle! Paul Heyman himself showed up at State of Play to give us a look at WWE 2K25! They showed off “The Island,” a new online open-world environment filled with WWE landmarks, quests, live events, and shops. Up to 50 players can hang out there at once, and it sounds like the MySuperstar customization is going to be insane. The game launches on PS5 and PS4 March 14th!
