We live in a world where smartphones are as constant as time, where technology changes every second and every launch brings something new, sometimes something revolutionary. Every year we turn a page on the calendar and a storm of excitement circles one name: the Google Pixel 9. The Pixel 8 should launch in early autumn this year, just as it did when the Pixel 7 series debuted on 4 October 2022, so expect an unveiling on 4 October 2023 (unless the date changes). Thanks to an early leak from the accessory maker Thinborne reported by the team at Android Central, the phone that will ring in the anniversary of the Google Pixel 8’s launch already started a countdown of its own, revealing something new to our future with a silhouette that is nothing short of a digital rebirth.
And just like that, Thinborne has unveiled the curtain on what we believe to be the Google Pixel 9 case. We’re not talking about a mere protective sleeve for your phone, we’re talking about a signal. A beacon if you will, confirming the design as well as the size of what could be Google’s next triumph. Leaks from the supply chain, winks from industry insiders, we’re looking at three totems of the Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Each an iteration of the next, the XL standing as the guiding light of what the flagship aspires to be.
Leaning forward into the realm of design, Google’s Pixel 9 is also speculated to be thinner than its Pixel 8 predecessor. Where the Pixel 8 kept it simple on the back – with a photo bar engaging more in camera function than form – the rumoured Pixel 9 will take the style game to another level by introducing what can only be considered a photo island rather than just a camera module. These are not changes. These are improvements. Built upon the input and the dreams of users worldwide.
