In the new digital world where every task is being reimagined by artificial intelligence (AI) on digital workspaces, GOOGLE holds the snapshot of bringing a new transformational female bot to life once again at the GOOGLE I/O.
To say that GOOGLE Workspace just became smarter and easier to work with is an understatement. The introduction of the new Gemini 1.5 Pro AI integrations into GOOGLE Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail is going to change the digital work environment in a phenomenal way.
It was a sea change, one worthy of our attention, in the very nature of digital tools – and the technology under the hood in GOOGLE Workspace. In the intervening aeon, GOOGLE’s dispersal of AI into its suite is still revolutionary.
At its core is Gemini 1.5 Pro. It’s the latest descendant of a long-running AI platform codenamed Bard. But while its predecessors were spoken-language AIs that lived on the internet, Gemini is part of a unified personal AI system built into the entire suite of GOOGLE Workspace apps.
Where GOOGLE’s ambition seems to go in the long run is clearer: to institute a workspace that allows applications not just to sit side-by-side, or be layered on top of each other, but to actually embed themselves in each other. This integration is likely a long way off, but it's a goal worth striving for.
Along with the promise of a workspace enhanced by AI, an increased role for data security is inevitable. GOOGLE has an ongoing dialogue about privacy, ensuring that the use of data in product offerings is judicious and responsible.
But the road to the proper AI-ification of the workspace is far from smooth, not least because of the challenges in making AI assistants reliable and efficient. However, GOOGLE's integration of AI and human work has tremendous potential for enhancing creativity and productivity.
Working behind the scenes of each of these innovations is GOOGLE, the company that has become the very embodiment of innovation. By infusing AI into Workspace, GOOGLE shows its dedication to solving users’ current needs and developing the digital workspace of the future.
So next time GOOGLE develops yet another cool product or service that alters the basic infrastructure of the modern digital workspace, you should probably make a note to pay attention.
