Fortnite and Lego fans, are you ready for an adventure? The farmers formerly known has happy – and now haunted – harvest have taken a far more scenic and dangerous path, as a new update for Lego versions of the Fortnite universe adds another explorable map to the mix. Lost Isles, meant to be the second in a series of expansions to the Lego-spinoff set in Fortnite, is the product of an update called version 31.20 that was released by Epic Games on 17 September.
By the time you reach your first island, the map will already be dripping with possibilities. Lost Isles isn’t just a patch update. It’s the start of the player discovering them all, new islands and new biomes all across five Lego biomes: Beach, Plains, Jungle, Mountains and Floating Islands. The Lego biomes aren’t just thematically different, each with its own set of challenges and rewards, they’re visually distinct as well.
Picturing that meld is easy – imagine the promise of relaxation in the Beach biome landing, only to be countered by the threat of pirates: an area that comforts while delivering a little of everything that the Lost Isles can offer. It is one of the most dangerous and one of the most captivating places on the planet.
Go deeper still and you will find what they call the Jungle – green and lush and full of life and death. Plants aren’t just there to adorn the island’s jungles and hillsides – they can kill or cure. The Bomb and Stink Flowers are natural defences that you can wield against all challengers – one of many unique, innovative gameplay mechanics that Epic Games has built into the fabric of the Lost Isles.
The Lost Isles wouldn’t be a true adventure without an armoury to honour it, and lo and behold the Lost Isles delivers: the Pirate Musket, Flint-Knock Pistol, and Boom Shield are just several of the weapons and equipment you’ll find on your trip into the continent. More unexpected treasures await you in the Plains, as the Peely Tribe’s Throwing Spears lend you a new type of weapon and the Storm-Wild Tomatoes grow you the Explorer’s Machete and the Knockback Shield.
The latest incarnation brings the Essence Table to life – adding an element of crafting to the game, as players can start creating Runes that strengthen their tools, layering in an additional tactical depth to their rise to dominion over the Lost Isles. Ongoing evolution is a hallmark of the genre – one that casual players and game veterans alike can appreciate.
Klombo: a giant creature of the Lost Isles that you can befriend by feeding it a Klomberry and climb on its back Like every other aspect of the game, players can explore the Lost Isles, which is twice the size of any other area in the game, with a sense of wonder and whimsy that’s rare in gaming.
Every major update is paired with a new battle pass, and Lost Isles is no exception. Check out the Tropical Treasures Lego Pass, which unleashes a barrage of build objects for players to find and unlock. Boost your play now with a Premium Reward Track where you pay 1,400 V-Bucks to unlock exclusives and nothing but exclusives. That spirit of adventure permeates Fortnite’s DNA, from core to lobes.
A flight of Quests invites you to explore and discover: part of the Lost Isles experience, each Quest is not simply a path to a reward, but an opportunity to explore the Lego Fortnite universe itself, advancing the player’s understanding of a new territory with each completion – and earning Studs along the way that propel them up the LEGO Pass.
Every element of the Lost Isles update speaks to that spirit of discovery. This is a call-out to players to be adventurers, to discover a world assembled to excite, to challenge, to delight. Lost Isles is a map, but it’s also a promise of renewal, of fresh problems to solve, rewards to earn. Get your gear on, round up your teammates, and get ready to discover a land where the talking Lego bricks meet the more-in-common talking dinosaurs of the Lego Fortnite universe. This update is a rallying cry for exploratory souls: for the sense that the potential for discovery is just a game session away.
