The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Convertible is unveiled. This is a seascape of quietly undulating waves, pastel in various shades of pink and blue, against an early morning sky, at the water’s edge. This is a dynamic image of three black Mercedes Maybachs, driving in a speedway, in slow motion, against the greys of a skyline in San Francisco. This is an image of a woman, her back to the camera. She is driving a Mercedes Maybach cabriolet. Through the lowered roof, you can see the blue sky and the fluffy clouds above. She is wearing a pastel pink strapless dress, her eyes half-closed, and her hair is flowing behind her head.
This model, with its optional ‘Mojave Silver’ exterior that’s accented by glistening bits of chrome and an especially distinguished diamond-rimmed grille, along with a unique 21-inch set of forged wheels and a Maybach emblem on the C-pillar, is instantly recognisable. Of course, the real masterstroke in the Monogram Series is optional Designo Titian Red leather interior: nothing will prepare you for the overwhelming luxury that this creates for the five people sitting inside.
Everywhere you touch in the cabin, there is leather: supple, available in an array of colours, including Designo Titian Red. Maybach embroideries adorn the seats. High-gloss wood trims expand across the dashboard and door panels. Along with the wings, Mercedes-Maybach S 600 offers a full complement of best-possible luxury and comfort.
Under the sculpted hood of the SL 680 Monogram Series beats a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine that produces 621 horsepower (462 kW) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. This propulsion system is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive, which launches it to 60 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds and tops out at 155 mph (250 km/h).
Staying true to form, Mercedes-Maybach plans to sell only 150 of the SL 680 Monogram Series Convertible globally, with each owner receiving a production-number badge located on the centre console and a welcome package of Maybach-branded luggage and a certificate of provenance.
The cost is, of course, a closely guarded piece of information, but potential buyers can expect to pay a hefty sum for the likes of it. The Maybach O anys will be revealed next year at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show, with deliveries starting in the summer of 2025.
Red, the colour of passion Not just a simple colour choice for the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Convertible (2021). Mercedes-Benz Designo Titian Red is an emblem of the energy and the vibrancy the luxury car embodies. Designo Titian Red is designed for vision, not just for the eyes.
From the seatbelt star to the diamond-inspired upholstery embroidery, the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Convertible is more than a car: it’s a performance, a triumph of craftsmanship, each step guided by the Master of Ceremonies, Mercedes-Maybach. In a world where effort and striving never end, the path of achievement is crowned in red – the colour of the Monogram series. Red is the colour of luxury, encapsulated in the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Convertible.
