Design info: The V30+ is lightweight. It is considerably smaller than the V20 in all dimensions. Its edges curve nicely to the sides, and the corners are also a bit rounded. 

The edges are curved, yes, but the screen isn’t. It’s no curved screen like the Galaxy S8; the curve begins where the screen ends. The truth is, flat screens are better to handle than curved screens, but curved screens are more aesthetically appealing. LG sort of combined a flat screen with a curved body to look premium and easy to use.

There’s a lot of glass on this device, from the screen to the back panel separated by an aluminium frame. All glass areas are protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The back panel usually will have scratch marks after a while; the screen remains smooth. This is because the back is usually what comes in contact with rough surfaces.

The V30+ Dual has no home button in front. The home button is combined with a fingerprint reader and placed at the back of the phone so that you can easily unlock the device with your index finger. 

Unlocking this device is even better with the improved facial recognition technology integrated into it. Nothing else is on the back panel save the dual camera, its LED flashlight, LG and B&O’s official signatures. 

To achieve an IP68 rating, this smartphone must have a non-removable back panel which it does. The battery is also non-removable. 

The mouthpiece is at the bottom, while the secondary mic is on top alongside the headphone jack. The dual SIM card trays eject from the right side in a hybrid slot while the volume is controlled from the left side. 

Audio info: Audio quality is very impressive. Volume is high, and the clarity of sound is top-notch. You can take matters into your hands and adjust the sound further, increasing its volume without additional noise. The sound here is just as good on the loudspeaker as it is with headphones.

Capacity info: This device has a storage capacity of 128GB and 4GB of RAM. It allows storage expansion up to 2TB.

Display info: The V30+ Dual is equipped with LG’s FullVision and P-OLED display in an 18:9 aspect ratio. The FullVision display means your V30+ dual is compatible with an expanded variety of virtual reality apps. 

Its resolution is 1440 x 2880p, and this earned it a pixel density of 537. Without comparison to the Super AMOLEDs, this display is good enough. Colors are great, contrast is good, brightness is superb, viewing angles are great. It’ll take careful inspection to notice a flaw in the screen.

Camera and video recording info: The rear camera is a dual camera that comprises one 16MP standard angle shooter and another 13MP ultrawide lens. It features HDR, LED flash, and panorama. Video can be recorded on 4K, 1080p or 720p. The front camera is a disappointing 5MP selfie taker that does a mediocre job.

Water-resistance info: The V30+ Dual has an Ingress Protection rating of 68, but the manufacturers advise against deliberate immersion in water. When the device gets wet for any reason, you can be sure it’ll survive that. Ensure it is dry before charging it. 

Performance info: The processor of the V30+ is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835. On a flagship scale, its performance is only about 5% lower than the flagship-grade processor. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and Adreno 540 GPU.

Connectivity info: Comms include: Wi-Fi, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot. There’s Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, A-GPS, FM stereo, and USB Type-C.

Battery info: The battery capacity is 3300mAh. This provides 33 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 15 hours of video playback endurance. The battery is indeed superb.
