Sell BLU R1 HD

If there’s one thing anyone has heard about the BLU R1 HD, it is most definitely its $50 price tag for Amazon Prime customers. It was released in June 2016, and there was hardly any modern smartphone that could beat this price.

Apart from its price, this entry-level device was not built to break records or handle heavy tasks. The company targets an audience on a budget, and the BLU R1 HD was one of the early smartphones on the Amazon Prime discount promotion.

The downside to getting the device at a discounted rate on Amazon Prime discount is the bloatware. On this Amazon discount, be ready to deal with all kinds of Amazon adverts, offers, and promotions that pop every time you unlock the device. The whole point of buying this device is its $50 price; will it be worth it to buy it for $100 to avoid dealing with Amazon ads? Only you can answer that question depending on your tolerance for ads.

The question here is how much you need in a smartphone and how much you’re willing to save acquiring it. As an unlocked smartphone, it supports T-Mobile, AT&T, and any other Mobile network operator. It has two SIM slots, so you have the freedom of owning two phone numbers and switching between carriers whenever you want to.

If you care very much about smartphone specs, then you’re not the one this device was made for. Still, the BLU R1 HD specs are awesome for the discounted price. Briefly, it has a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, a 5-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and an 8MP rear camera. This isn’t bad at all, is it?

The BLU R1 HD will handle your day-to-day smartphone tasks easily. Its performance is surprisingly reliable. If you’ve outgrown your old BLU HD R1, there are others who will jump on it. Contact Gizmogo to sell your BLU R1 HD.

BLU R1 HD Specification

Design info: No one will blame you if you were quick to assume that the BLU R1 HD has mediocre build and design quality to hit that low price. When you eventually lay hold on the device and see it first hand, you may find yourself taken by surprise at its impressive build. Not that it is outstanding, but the BLU R1 HD simply has a good design for a budget an entry-level, budget smartphone.

The smartphone has a solid design that is easily pocketable and comfortable to hold. It has a plastic back panel but the polycarbonate kind of plastic, which is superior to regular plastic in every way. This back panel has a matte finish making it even more visually appealing and offering better grip in hand. It gets smudged easily and is also a fingerprint magnet.

The bezels are large, especially above and below the screen, and curve gently across the edges, meeting the metal frame on the sides. You’ll see a large central camera on top, followed by its LED flash, then the BLU logo and a speaker on the back panel.

The volume rocker is on the left on the sides, while the power button is on the right. They have good tactile properties and are made of the same metal as the frame. The plastic back is removable, but the battery is not. The SIM card slots and microSD card slots lie beneath the back cover. The USB port is on the bottom, while the headphone jack is on top of the device.

Audio info: You’ll see a circular speaker on the rear side, and even though the smartphone has a sound enhancement, the sound output is awful. Volume is also quite low, even during phone calls.

Capacity info: There are two models of the BLU R1 HD varied by their storage capacity, RAM, and price. The 8GB; 1GB RAM goes for $50 while the 16GB; 2GB RAM goes for $60. There’s a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage of an additional 64GB.

Size & Weight info: The device weighs 142g and measures 143.5 x 72 x 8.7mm.

Display info: This smartphone has a 5-inch screen and 720 x 1080 pixels of resolution. It uses IPS LCD tech and has only a 66.7% screen-to-body ratio. It has a pixel density of 294 and an aspect ratio of 16:9. While the display may disappoint, there’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the screen.

Camera and video recording info: The single rear camera is 8MP with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. You can get good photos with this camera in good conditions but don’t expect much detail. Videos are recorded in 1080p. The selfie camera is 5MP and does not have a lot of picture noise with no detail. It has its LED, though.

Water-resistance info: There’s no water-resistance feature on this device.

Performance info: The BLU R1 HD uses MediaTek MT6735, a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 processor. Coupled with 1GB or 2GB RAM and Android 6.0, the performance is below average.

Connectivity info: There’s no FM radio or NFC, but you’ll get all the Wi-Fi has to offer, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB 2.0.

Battery info: The 2500mAh battery is non-removable but may sustain you for a whole day on average use. Streaming videos on Wi-Fi at maximum brightness drained the battery in 8 hours. You have up to 15 hours of 3G talk time and 500 hours of standby time.
