Sell BLU Amour
Now, the BLU Amour had a catch feature: its diamond-looking home button made from Swarovski Zirconia. Now that’s strategy! – Incorporating jewelry into a smartphone targeted at the female population. The market did embrace the idea.
It isn’t a common strategy, though, knowing that it will ruin the whole idea if manufacturers overdo it even a little bit, but we’ve seen quite a few, including the HTC Rhyme and the Palm Pre Plus.
The BLU Amour wasn’t just a smartphone. It was very fashionable with its elegant design, flashy colors, and luxurious theme. It even featured and was on display in North America’s leading jewelry event – the JCK Las Vegas Show.
According to BLU’s CEO, the company wanted a great device that was distinctive and for “women at the centre of attraction.” And they did achieve this.
Many would overlook the features of the Amour, almost completely blinded by its luster and blinded to the flaws in its spec. But this was 2013 when the best smartphones had 2GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. Yet, still, we have to admit that this device, with all its glitter, didn’t impress much with its specs.
The BLU Armor has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800p. It had 512GB RAM and a dual-core 1GHz CPU. It came with an internal storage of 4GB with a slot for expandable storage. Its 5MP main camera was fitted into the back panel, and it didn’t quite keep the promise of a great snapper that the manufacturers promised.
But the Amour had its catch which was its elegant appeal to a streamlined audience that would appreciate it. While this device was a focus of attention in the past, it won’t achieve that today, and there’s almost no point holding unto it if you once acquired it for its glisters. Now, you’ll probably do more good selling your BLU Amour on Gizmogo.
BLU Amour Specification
Design info: The BLU Amour had a pearly white back panel with curved edges and corners and a quilted finish. It had a curved screen with large white bezels and a silver frame. It is small and soft looking, well rounded at its corners.
Its most prominent feature is its home button, interestingly so. It is impressive how the manufacturers creatively attracted so much attention to such a trivial part of a smartphone. The home button is a Swarvoski Zirconia jewel. This piece of jewel, with its mesmerizing brilliance and detail, is the most realistic manmade diamond stimulant and its closest look-alike.
So there you have it. The BLU Amour is clad in white, with a 4-inch screen and large white bezels, which are thickest above and below the screen. The bezel above houses the front-facing camera, a speaker grille, and a mic. The bezel below is for the capacitive app switcher and back button with the diamond simulator of a home button glittering in-between them. The back cover is removable, and so is its battery. It has a round rear camera and LED flash. While this is an old type design, it looks good and flashy on the outside.
Audio info: Audio output and volume are mediocre.
Capacity info: There are only 4GB of internal storage on this smartphone, but the expandable storage makes it possible to add up to 32GB.
Size & Weight info: The weight of this smartphone is 137 grams. It has dimensions of 128 x 65.5 x 116mm.
Display info: The screen is an IPS TFT display with only 4 inches and a WVGA resolution. This 480 x 800 pixels on its 4inches screen results in a 233-pixel density. Screen to body ratio is about 54%, while its aspect is 5:3. It had good viewing angles and colors, but they are hardly accurate compared to today’s standard for entry-level smartphones.
Camera and video recording info: The rear camera is a 5MP lens that takes basic photos. Not a great camera, but it would take your pictures successfully. It records videos in 480p @ 30fps and has its LED flash. The selfie camera has a VGA resolution. This 3 MP camera allows you to make video calls but is no good for taking photos.
Water-resistance info: The Amour is not resistant to water.
Performance info: The BLU Amour is powered by MediaTek MT6577, a dual-core 1.0GHz Cortex-A9, along with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. This processor is quite primitive, but it allows smooth browsing, navigation, and imaging. It runs on Android 4.0 and 512MB RAM.
Connectivity info: The Amour is an unlocked smartphone, and it supports dual SIM cards. It has Wi-Fi, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, FM radio, and USB 2.0.
Battery info: It has a 1600mAh removable battery that has a standby time of up to 500 hours and a 3G talk time of up to 12 hours.
